Located in the Charlotte Street conservation area, with listed buildings directly adjacent.
The brief called for ongoing flexibility of use, to maximise longevity and future value.
Response
Building designed to fit into sensitive townscape without limiting potential uses.
The massing is maximised by creating a composite form that reduces the apparent size.
A central single-stair core solution, creates well-lit space that easily splits into different uses.
Results
Planning consent with unanimous committee decision on 1st application.
The new-build scheme adds 70% additional area in W1 location.
Consent for a double basement and extra roof floor.
